Analytics show zero or no revenue
No views, views but no orders, or numbers that don't match what you expect.
No widgets yet
No widgets yet means you haven't created a widget. Numbers appear once a widget is live on your storefront and a shopper has seen it. See Create your first widget.
No views at all
If Analytics shows Nothing recorded in this range, none of your widgets were shown in that time.
Check your widgets are actually on your storefront. See Widget not showing.
Open the Date range dropdown on Analytics and try Last 90 days or All time.
A widget that hides itself isn't counted as viewed. That includes a widget whose placement doesn't match the page, and one with fewer clips than its minimum.
Views, but no orders or revenue
Sales are credited when a shopper adds a product to the cart from a video, or goes to the product page from a video, then checks out. See How sales are credited. Common reasons for zero:
- No tagged products. Clips without a tagged product can't lead to a sale. See Tag a product.
- The shopper declined tracking. The attribution pixel only runs for shoppers who allow analytics tracking.
- The purchase skipped the cart, for example through an express checkout button on the product page, or on another device.
- More than 30 days passed between the video and the purchase.
- The item changed in the cart, for example to a different variant.
- The product wasn't reached through a video. Only the products a shopper added from a video, or opened from one, are credited. Other items in the same order aren't.
- You opened the app after the sale. The attribution pixel is added the first time you open the app, and sales before that can't be credited.
- The order confirmation page didn't load, for example because the shopper left during an offsite payment. The pixel reports sales from that page.
Foxr only learns about a sale from the pixel. It doesn't read your store's order list, so an order the pixel didn't report can't be found later.
Revenue appears as soon as an attributed order is placed. Reload Analytics to see it.
An order is in Shopify but not in Analytics
Most orders won't be in Analytics: only orders that include a product reached through a video are, and only that product's price is counted. If the order should be there, go through the list above. The most common causes are a shopper who declined tracking and a purchase that skipped the cart.
Added to cart is 0, but there are orders
Buy button action is set to Link to the product page, so shoppers add to cart on the product page, which isn't counted as Added to cart. Their purchases are still credited to the video.
Play rate is very low
Play rate is plays ÷ views, and views are counted generously: every page load counts, including widgets shoppers never scroll to, pop ups that never open or were closed earlier, and pages where the app embed is off. So a play rate of a few percent is normal for widgets low on the page.
If the widget uses Play inside the card, videos played in their cards aren't counted as plays at all, so its play rate reads close to zero.
A rate is over 100%
Plays counts every clip a shopper watches in the player, so one view can lead to several plays. Added to cart counts every add, while Product clicks counts once per clip per page. So Play rate and Add-to-cart rate can go over 100%.
The Widgets page and Analytics don't match
The Widgets page shows all-time totals. Analytics shows the last 30 days by default. Set the range to All time to compare them.
Widget orders add up to more than the total
One order can include products from two widgets. It's credited to both widgets, but counts once in your store's total Orders.
A clip is missing from Clips, or shows as Removed clip
- Missing: the Clips list only includes clips that were viewed in the date range. Try a longer range.
- Removed clip: the clip is no longer in the widget. It keeps its numbers, but loses its name and thumbnail.
A card has no percentage badge
The badge compares with the period before. There's none when that earlier period had nothing to compare with, and none on All time.
Numbers differ from Shopify's reports
- Analytics days are UTC, so evening orders in the Americas can land on the next day.
- Only the products reached through a video count as attributed revenue, not whole orders.
- Refunds and cancellations aren't subtracted.
- Purchases by shoppers who declined tracking aren't counted.
Numbers went down for past dates
A widget was deleted. Deleting a widget removes its views, orders, and revenue from every total, including past dates.
Money shows without a currency symbol
- The range has no orders yet.
- Orders in the range were in more than one currency. They're added together without conversion.
Numbers look too high
- Views are counted on every page load that shows a widget, including your own visits and theme editor previews, and whether or not the shopper scrolls down to it.
- Pop up views are counted when the page loads, even if the bubble never appears.
- Views are counted while the app embed is off, even though shoppers can't see the widget.
- Plays count the same clip again when a shopper tries to go past the first or last clip.
