On the thumbnails
Silent preview videos, product chips on cards, and their colours: what shoppers see before they tap.
Where to find it: open a widget, click the tab named after its layout, then the On the thumbnails card. It's on the Stories, Carousel, Grid, and Product page tabs.
Preview videos
Thumbnails can play their videos silently, so the widget moves on the page. Sound only starts once a shopper opens the player.
Turn on previews
Open the widget and click the tab named after its layout.
In the On the thumbnails card, open the Preview videos list.
Pick Every clip on screen, One clip at a time, in turn, or Featured clip only. See the table below.
Click Save.

Off is the default for Stories, Carousel, and Grid. Featured clip only is the default for Product page.
Previews use a small, quick-loading version of each video. Images never animate. Pop up widgets always play their clip, whatever this setting says.
When previews don't play
Some phones block autoplaying video, for example in iPhone Low Power Mode or with data saving on. Shoppers then see the poster image instead, with nothing broken.
Product card
A small chip on each card that shows the clip's tagged product: its image, title, price, and optionally its star rating. Tapping the chip opens the player on that clip.
Show product chips
In the On the thumbnails card, open the Product card list. This list isn't on Stories.
Pick Under the clip or Over the clip.
Click Save.

Chips only show on clips with a tagged product that's Active in Shopify, and only on Carousel and Grid. Stories and Pop up never show chips. The option also appears for Product page, but the strip doesn't draw chips.
The chip shows the product's lowest variant price, in your store's default currency. To show star ratings, turn on Show review score from products in Settings → Products.
A product with nothing in stock shows a Sold out label on its chip. If Hide out of stock products and variants is on in Settings → Products, the chip is removed instead.
Card style
Once Product card isn't Hidden, you can colour the chips:

Card style also colours the product card inside the player, for this widget. Stories and Pop up widgets have no Card style, so their player card is Dark, as it is for any new widget.
Use your own card colours
In the On the thumbnails card, set Product card to Under the clip or Over the clip.
Set Card style to Custom colors. Card background and Card text appear.
Pick both colours, then click Save.
