Grid columns and pattern

Set how many tiles fit per row on desktop, tablet, and mobile, and choose an even grid or a mosaic.

Where to find it: open a Grid widget and click the Columns tab. It only appears for the Grid layout.

Tiles per row

Set one number for each screen size. Fewer columns means bigger tiles, which usually means more taps.

SettingScreen widthRangeDefault
Desktop1000 px and wider1–85
Tablet750 px to 999 px1–63
MobileNarrower than 750 px1–32

Tile size follows the column count and the gap. Set the gap under Grid → Size and spacing.

Change the number of columns

Open the Grid widget and click the Columns tab.

In the Tiles per row card, type a number for Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile.

Click Save. The preview uses your Desktop number, so check tablet and mobile on those screens.

Pattern

Choose it with Tile pattern, in the Pattern card:

OptionLooks like
Even grid (default)Every tile the same size.
Mosaic — every fifth tile largerTiles 1, 6, 11, 16, and 21 are twice as wide and twice as tall, with the rest fitted around them. A magazine-style wall.

On phones, Mosaic switches to an even grid automatically, so tiles don't get too small. The large tiles keep the same shape as the others, set by Clip shape, at twice the size.

Switch to a mosaic

Click the Columns tab.

In the Pattern card, set Tile pattern to Mosaic — every fifth tile larger.

In the Tiles per row card, make sure Desktop and Tablet are at least 3.

Click Save.

Mosaic needs 3 or more columns

Use Mosaic only with at least 3 columns on Desktop and Tablet. With 1 or 2 columns, the large tiles collapse into a thin strip. The editor preview doesn't show this.

Good to know

  • A grid shows all its clips at once, up to 24. There's no paging or "load more".
  • The editor preview uses your Desktop number. Check tablet and mobile on those screens.
  • Grid tiles can play videos in place instead of opening the player. See Player.
