Settings overview

Shop-wide settings that apply to every widget: the player, product cards, the add-to-cart button, video quality, search engine data, and button text in each language.

Where to find it: click Settings in the app menu. The page is called Widget settings.

Settings apply to every widget in your store. Widget-by-widget design, such as sizes, colours, and layouts, lives in the widget editor.

The groups

Fullscreen playerSound, likes, sharing, captions, cropping, and moving on to the next video.
FeedsThe minimum number of clips a widget needs before it shows.
VideosVideo quality versus page speed.
AEO & GEOStructured data that helps search and answer engines find your videos.

Change a setting

Click Settings in the app menu, then click a group to open it.

Change what you need. A save bar appears.

Click Save. You'll see Settings saved. You stay in the same group.

To go to another group, click the back arrow next to the group's name, then pick the next group.

Changes reach your storefront the next time a page loads. You don't need to save your widgets again. The exception is AEO & GEO, which updates your widgets for you when you save it.

Your brand logo is the one thing that saves the moment you upload or remove it, without clicking Save.

Settings reach shoppers through the app embed

Your settings are loaded on your storefront by the FOXR - Shoppable Video app embed. Keep it on: with the embed off, widgets placed with the UGC widget block don't show at all. See Turn on the app embed.

When a setting exists in both places

A few features can be switched on per widget and shop-wide. The feature is on if either is on:

FeatureWidget editor (Player tab)Settings
Player starts mutedStart with sound offOpen muted
Captions in the playerShow captionsShow media captions
Share buttonShow a share buttonShow share button (on by default)

For the minimum number of clips, the higher of Heading and clips → Show only with at least (the tab is called Clips on Pop up widgets) and Feeds → Minimum media to display feed applies.

Language

The text shoppers see in the player, such as Add to cart, Sold out, Quantity, and View full details, is translated into 18 languages besides English, and shows in the language the shopper is browsing in. You can change the wording of Add to cart, Sold out, and View full details for each language. See Translations and button text.

Your own words, the widget heading and your file captions, show exactly as you write them. They aren't translated.
