Product rules
Cap how many of one product a customer can take, keep two products apart, or make one product's presence control which others are offered.
Selection rules work per category. Product rules work across the whole builder — they're about individual products and how they relate to each other, not how many items come from a category.
Find them in the Product rules card on the Products tab.
Max of the same product
Caps how many units of one product a customer can put in a single bundle, regardless of which category it's in.
Open the Product rules card.
Set Max of the same product. The default is No limit.
Use it to stop someone filling an entire box with one product when your box sizes assume a mix — for example a "6 candles, pick any scent" builder where you still want at least a couple of different scents represented.
Mutually exclusive products
Groups of products that can never appear together in the same bundle — useful for scent or flavor families that clash, or for keeping a premium add-on out of a starter box.
Click Add exclusion group.
Name the group — for example Clashing scents.
Click Choose products and pick two or more products that shouldn't share a box.
The moment a customer has one product from the group in their kit, the others in that group become unavailable to add. Add as many groups as you need with Add exclusion group; remove one with Remove group.
Step dependencies
The opposite of exclusion — one or more trigger products unlock which products are offered in another step.
Click Add dependency.
Name the rule — for example Only offer refills with the starter kit.
Under When any of these is in the bundle, choose the trigger products.
Under Only show these products in [step], choose the category the rule narrows and the compatible products to allow there.
Until a trigger product is in the kit, the targeted step shows its full product list as normal. Once a trigger is added, that step narrows to only the compatible products you listed — everything else in it is hidden until the trigger is removed again.
Combine with selection rules
Product rules and Selection rules stack. A category can have a quantity rule, a spend limit, and be the target of a step dependency at the same time.
